2025 Zombie Run 5K and Family Fun Run

The Rotary Club of Morganton is excited to announce the date for the 2025 Zombie Run 5K and Family Fun Run Fundraiser! The event will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Downtown Morganton. The Club has partnered with UNC Health Care Blue Ridge as the major sponsor for this new local family event that will raise funds for local community projects.

The day will start at 8:30 AM on the Courthouse Square in Downtown Morganton and funds raised from this year’s event will be used to support Burke County Habitat for Humanity and The Enola Group.

The 5K and Family Fun Run will zig and zag through downtown Morganton while participants face the additional challenge of avoiding ZOMBIES lurking in unexpected nooks and crannies - WATCH OUT!! They’re trying to steal your flags. The fastest runner may or may not win if they don’t avoid the zombies! The course will end on the beautiful Downtown Morganton Courthouse Square where there will be prizes, family activities, food trucks and live entertainment.

Registration costs as of September 1 for the Zombie Run 5K is $35.00, increasing to $40.00 on October 2, and the Family Fun Run is only $10.00 which includes a day of family fun, a long sleeve Zombie Run T Shirt and, of course, Halloween candy.
